Editor’s Message

Indian Journal of Philosophical Research (IJPR) is a Peer Reviewed, Biannual, Bilingual (English & Bengali) online Journal. It is published under Bhagavad Gita Research and Realization Foundation (BGRRF) [Reg. No. 190100450 of 2024], a Trust for inculcating the education through the organization of different seminars, workshops, publication of books, and specially through some philanthropic works.  Presently, many journals are available either in printed mode or in online mode. But most of these journals are multi-disciplinary having a profit-making purpose only. Naturally, any scholar who is an aspirant to be the master of a specific discipline will be failed to fulfil his/her purpose. It is as like as buying a combo-pack item from a multi-storied shopping mall amongst which only a few are to be used. It may be the case that the customer entered into the mall for buying a packet of biscuit, but when he left the place, he discovered that he bought many items except the packet of biscuit which made him to reach the mall. Let it be noted, earlier in India there were many renowned journals in philosophy which were published regularly under the Department of Philosophy of a University. Today though only a few have been running, are not in a regular basis. These are supposed to be quit.

In order to cope up this situation, this journal is launched to serve two main purposes. One is to focus those writings which are philosophy centric. Because without having a strong philosophical basis, a nation can never be a perfect nation. It is not true that only the scholars of philosophy will be capable to write a paper which is philosophy centric. Any student from any discipline can write a paper which is philosophy oriented, because each and every discipline has a philosophy except the philosophy itself. Another purpose is to offer a platform for the emerging writers. When the new authors are compelled to publish in generic, multi-disciplinary journals — often without receiving proper appreciation or critical feedback — IJPR aims to provide them a dedicated space where their ideas will be seriously engaged with and nurtured.

Beyond publication, IJPR envisions to build an inclusive intellectual community in order to foster a dynamic network of scholars, students, and readers engaged in critical thinking and meaningful debate. In the near future, it is planned to initiate online reading circles, research forums, and interactive sessions — equally in English and in Bengali — to strengthen the spirit of Philosophical Inquiry.
